Background Music and Reading Comprehension Study

Thank you for taking part in this study. This research explores how different background sound environments may affect reading and comprehension.

There are no right or wrong ways to participate. We ask that you read carefully and answer honestly.

What to expect

• A few short questions about yourself and your study habits.
• Two short reading passages, each followed by six multiple-choice comprehension questions.
• One passage will include background music, while the other will be completed in silence.
• A few brief follow-up questions about your experience.

Before you begin

• Find a quiet place and set your device volume to a comfortable listening level.
• Complete the study in one sitting if possible.
• Do not close or refresh the page once the study begins.
• Do not use outside resources or look anything up during the reading tasks.
• Your responses are anonymous. Your name is not collected.

Consent to participate

Participation is voluntary. You may stop at any time without penalty. Your responses will be used only for this independent research project and may be summarized in academic and educational contexts.
